What success looks like:

  • Development of strong client relationships and acting as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives
  • Your clients trust you and rely on your knowledge, skills and expertise to achieve their business goals and objectives.
  • Your clients are impressed with your ability to represent their best interests regarding contractual and technical issues
  • Ensuring your clients’ expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and representing clients’ best interests with respect to contractual and technical issues
  • Your project teams rely on your ability to manage change, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time and on budget
  • You take a leadership position in chairing project and site meetings, find resolutions to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met
  • You report regularly on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports
  • You provide leadership and oversight to the change management process, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents
  • You maintain contact with existing and prospective clients and respond to business development and sales opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal or Regional Vice President


Who you are:


We’re looking for experienced project managers with specific experience delivering projects for correctional institutions in either Canada or the US, or within a high security environment similar to correctional facilities such as police stations, RCMP facilities, military facilities, court houses, detention centers or medical facilities with secure areas. You bring a wealth of experience leading projects varying in scope and complexity in these high security environments.


To be effective in this role you will be able to demonstrate a background in the successful delivery of building construction and/or capital improvement projects in the correctional institution sector or for other, similar secure facilities. The candidate must have worked on a minimum of three related construction projects in the last seven years with a minimum construction value of $1 million each. Your responsibilities will have included managing multiple stakeholders’ needs, while delivering complex projects encompassing all construction disciplines including mechanical, electrical and architectural as well as building security, locking systems and electronic camera systems.


You’re already known as a trusted advisor to your clients and have built strong, lasting relationships with senior leaders. You bring in-depth knowledge and have led and managed complex projects from start to finish – on time and on budget. You also maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, keeping them in mind for new business and sales opportunities.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of 3 successful construction projects delivered in a correctional facility or similar high-security environment in the last seven years with a minimum value of $1 million each
  • Experience representing owners to multiple stakeholders in the delivery of projects
  • A university degree or diploma in civil mechanical or electrical engineering, architecture, construction management or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • At least 5 years of experience managing public sector construction projects (federal, provincial or municipal)
  • Strong knowledge of various construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as building codes, contract law and relevant legislation
  • Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., A.Sc.T., Registered Architect or other similar industry recognized designation is considered a strong asset
  • Reliability Security Clearance an asset
  • An aptitude for risk management on complex projects, managing disputes and resolving a variety of project issues

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project and technical issues
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
