Nestled in the heart of Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, the Funamachi Base emerges as a captivating blend of tradition and innovation. Designed by Jo Nagasaka of Schemata Architects, this mixed-use facility seamlessly integrates a café and Japanese confectionery shop into the urban fabric, paying homage to the area's rich history as a bustling river port.

The project's standout feature is its ingenious blurring of boundaries between interior and exterior spaces.
