Project - In the city of Nipani, India, Shreyas Patil Architects has crafted an exceptional preprimary school that redefines the boundaries of educational spaces. The KLE Sanskruti Preprimary school is a vibrant, playful sanctuary where young minds can blossom amidst an architecture that ignites curiosity and fosters holistic development. Taking inspiration from the whimsical forms of a toy house, the building's massing exudes a sense of innocence through its rudimentary shapes and geometries. Projected cantilevers and recessed windows adorned with triangular motifs create a captivating facade that invites wonder and imagination. Beyond its engaging exterior, the school's interior spaces are meticulously designed to nurture learning and growth. Sunlit classrooms with dual-colored walls emanate warmth and comfort, while spacious play areas dotted with interactive elements encourage physical activity and creative expression. One of the project's standout features is its commitment to climate responsiveness. Leveraging natural ventilation, stack effects, and strategic north-facing lighting, the architecture cultivates an atmosphere conducive to learning, reflection, and environmental sensitivity. With meticulous attention to detail, from customized handrails tailored to a child's grip to diagonally oriented grills that prioritize safety, Shreyas Patil Architects has delivered a masterpiece that transcends mere functionality, becoming a canvas for joy, exploration, and lifelong learning.

Design Team - Founded in 2018 by principal architect Shreyas Patil, Shreyas Patil Architects is a Belgaum-based architectural practice guided by principles of contextual appropriateness and environmental sustainability. The firm's ideology centers on crafting spatially responsive architectural volumes that engage the user and surrounding contexts through a balanced approach melds contemporary design sensibilities with climateresponsive strategies. Under Patil's leadership, the practice dedicates itself to respectful site explorations that remain true to materials, generating comfortable yet dramatic spatial qualities. An alumnus of KLS GIT's architecture program and former student at the AA Summer DLAB in London, Patil honed his skills at firms like GNA, NIVASA, and Thirdspace prior to establishing his own practice. Now in its fourth year, Shreyas Patil Architects has amassed an expansive portfolio spanning residences, farmhouses, apartments, schools, boutiques, hospitality projects and more. The firm's designs excel at fostering dialogue between built environments and their geographical and cultural contexts through judicious deployment of passive design tactics and material authenticity.
