Feature: The JOMOO Headquarters stands as a milestone achievement in corporate architecture, where OMA has created an architectural masterpiece that seamlessly bridges urban density with natural landscape on the edge of Xiamen's central business district. This project, serving as the first office campus for China's largest sanitaryware manufacturer JOMOO Group, exemplifies the architects' profound understanding and innovative reinterpretation of contemporary Chinese tower typology.
The design philosophy centers on "duality" as the core guiding principle, manifesting through carefully orchestrated architectural form that achieves perfect expression. The continuous sculptural building volume integrates traditional base and tower concepts into a unified whole, creating a unique architectural language that responds to both urban high-rise density and embraces forested hills. The architects skillfully transformed contrasting environmental conditions into design advantages, creating revolutionary architectural expression that transcends conventional office typology.
The space's central design element is the fluid architectural form that serves as a spatial anchor within the complex urban context, while establishing powerful architectural drama within the 25,000-square-meter scale. The facade features white ceramic stripes that cast rhythmic visual effects, not only transforming the monotonous nature of traditional office buildings but also making the architecture stand out in the urban skyline, creating a captivating visual experience.
Most striking is the building's integration of public and corporate functions, whose unified programmatic framework provides diverse possibilities for spatial use. Traditional craft and high-tech production elements overlap and interweave, creating a unique atmosphere that embodies both JOMOO's brand mission and reflects Xiamen's cultural characteristics. These elements interact with carefully designed spatial sequences, generating multi-layered spatial experiences that elevate the corporate office experience far beyond conventional office buildings.
The architects demonstrate exceptional attention to environmental response details, through the continuous flowing architectural form that allows employees and visitors to immediately perceive significant changes in spatial atmosphere when entering this tranquil office environment from the city's busy streets. This design approach reflects the architects' profound understanding of user experience, creating what the architects describe as "a corporate space that merges tradition with modernity, quietly amplifying the innovative power of the JOMOO brand."
