Sasaki建筑事务所在波士顿学院完成了一项创新的扩建及翻新工程，打造了全新的霍格馆，为该校男女篮球队提供专属的训练设施。与其全新建造一座设施，建筑师们巧妙地将这座现代化阁楼融入了上世纪90年代建造的体育馆建筑中。霍格馆集力量训练、运动医疗、营养等专门设施于一体，还包括了休息室、更衣室和练习场地，所有区域都在单独的出入权限管控之下，专供篮球队使用。馆内处处可见校队历史图文并配备最新的运动设施，为运动员和新生创造了充满激励力的氛围。

一项重大的设计手法是将原本封闭无窗的练习馆打造成全面透视的采光间，自然光线能够投射进入，运动员的训练过程也与校园景观贯通相连。光亮的体育馆入口在赛事当天更是熠熠生辉，吸引整个校园的目光。在外立面设计上，通透的幕墙玻璃与石材造型与波士顿学院标志性的哥特式校园风格相得益彰，却又为体育馆注入了现代感。经过重新勾勒的广场则运用巧妙的坡度设计，提高了无障碍通行性，也为校园活动如路边车尾会等提供了弹性空间。

建筑师们在关注功能性的同时，还注重视觉体验和品牌营造，将波士顿学院篮球运动的精神融入设计细节，为校园带来了一处助力运动员成长、提升整体体验的全新地标。

Sasaki has completed an innovative addition and renovation to the Conte Forum arena at Boston College, creating the new Hoag Pavilion that supports the university's men's and women's basketball programs. Rather than constructing an entirely new facility, the architects sensitively integrated a contemporary pavilion into the existing 1990s arena building.

The pavilion houses dedicated facilities for the basketball teams including strength and conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition areas, lounges, locker rooms, and practice spaces - all secured within its own access-controlled environment. Branding and graphics celebrating team history and outfitted with the latest New Balance gear create an inspiring atmosphere for players and recruits.

A major intervention opened up the formerly windowless practice gym with full-height glazing, allowing natural light to pour in and connecting the teams' training activities to campus views. The lightwell and transparent entrance vestibule generate buzz around the arena on game days.

On the exterior, the curtain wall's sleek glass and stone facade complements Boston College's signature collegiate gothic architecture while giving the arena an elegant, contemporary update. The redesigned plaza uses smart grading changes to increase accessibility and create flexible space for events like tailgating.

With innovative programming moves and athletic branding moments integrated into functional yet visually compelling design moves, Sasaki has crafted an inspiring home for Boston College basketball that directly benefits player development and the overall campus experience.
