Design Features: Located in Odense, Denmark, between an industrial district and the natural landscape around Glisholm Lake, Dymak's new headquarters by BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group is conceived as a circular building wrapped around a sheltered green courtyard. The 2,800-square-meter headquarters brings offices, showrooms, a photo studio, fitness facilities, and shared spaces into a daily environment shaped by daylight, landscape, and social interaction.

The building responds to two contrasting site conditions through an undulating roofscape and a gridded timber-and-glass facade. It addresses one of the main entrances to Odense while opening toward nearby forest, lake, and wetland landscapes. At the same time, it works as a living catalogue for Dymak's tactile and natural material portfolio, translating the company's identity into structure, enclosure, interior atmosphere, and landscape experience.

The roof rises toward the north to frame panoramic views and cascades toward the south to provide shade, improve the indoor climate, and reduce traffic noise. Approximately 880 custom-shaped photovoltaic panels follow the roof geometry, allowing the building form to contribute to on-site energy production. The resulting continuous profile recalls a Mobius-like loop, unifying low-carbon thinking, solar performance, daylight, and views within one architectural gesture.

Visitors enter through a double-height arrival space. The ground floor contains the showroom, photo studio, and fitness areas, while the upper levels accommodate open workspaces, meeting rooms, and lounges. The circular plan keeps the workplace oriented toward the courtyard, where brick floors extend from inside to outside and form a green amphitheater for informal gatherings and everyday use.

Materially, the project combines mass timber with clay tiles, clay mortar, cork, eelgrass, and ceilings made from recycled paper fibers, reducing embodied carbon while creating a warm and organic working environment. The facade's vertical fins become denser to the south and more open to the north, regulating daylight and temperature throughout the day. In the surrounding landscape, native planting, green buffers, open water channels, and retention basins make rainwater management part of the spatial experience.

Dymak HQ has received DGNB Gold, Heart, and Diamond certification, recognizing its energy performance, attention to staff well-being, and architectural quality. The project is therefore not only a corporate headquarters, but also a compact model for combining workplace culture, low-carbon materials, ecological landscape, and everyday social life.

Design Team: BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group is an international architecture practice founded by Bjarke Ingels, who serves as Founder & Creative Director. The studio describes its current structure as BIG LEAP, bringing together Landscape, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, and Products. According to BIG, the practice has grown into a team of around 700 people, with offices in Copenhagen, London, Barcelona, New York, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Zurich, and Riyadh.
