ARCHITECTS OFFICE (AO)
BRAZIL

ARCHITECTS OFFICE (AO) is an international practice led by Greg Bousquet, working in architecture, urbanism and interior design from its base in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, Brazil. The studio's website describes a team of around 110 professionals collaborating across teams and projects around the world.
AO begins with investigation and listening. Cartographies, territorial readings, natural flows, climate, landscape, materiality and collective relationships are used to understand the conditions of a place before proposing a design. Rather than transferring a fixed formal language from one location to another, the practice allows each project to respond to its cultural, topographic, regulatory and everyday context, connecting different scales of architecture, city and landscape.
The studio works across architecture, urbanism, interior design, product design and landscape, with projects ranging from houses and apartments to offices, retail, education, hospitality, cultural buildings, public spaces and large urban developments. Recent work includes AGE 360 in Curitiba, WTC Biotic within the Brasília Technology Park and the Marangatu Luxury Hotel in Bahia. AO also operates an internal modelmaking laboratory to investigate volume, proportion, materiality and spatial relationships, bringing technical precision, creativity and environmental awareness together.
