BodinChapa Architects
Thailand

BodinChapa Architects, also known as BDCA, is an architecture practice based in Ayutthaya, Thailand, led by principal designers Bodin Mueanglue and Phitchapa Lothong. Working with a close-knit team of younger designers, the studio undertakes houses, restaurants, workplaces and renovation projects across Bangkok, Ayutthaya and other parts of the country.
The practice is interested in how local experience can find a contemporary architectural expression. Mueanglue grew up in Chiang Rai with an affinity for local art and traditional woodworking, while Lothong was raised in Ayutthaya among timber, brick and the material presence of historic buildings. These backgrounds inform an approach that brings vernacular knowledge and familiar materials into conversation with current construction methods.
Rather than applying a fixed formal signature, BodinChapa Architects uses each project to reconsider relationships among habitation, environment and everyday behaviour. JNG House was led by Lothong and Mueanglue. Its detached carport, raised entrance, central courtyard, linear skylights and reflective stainless-steel surfaces translate the owner's routines into a clear, comfortable and durable domestic order.
