KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2027

Organized by Japanese company KOKUYO, the KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD is an international product design competition focused on ideas that can enter real situations of living, learning, and working. The 2027 theme, “dialogue,” examines relationships between makers and users, users and objects, and objects and their surroundings.

Eligible entries include stationery, furniture, and tools for work, learning, and everyday life. Individuals and teams may enter. The jury will consider interpretation of the theme, engagement with social issues, and potential for real-world production. Prizes include a JPY 2,000,000 Grand Prix, three JPY 500,000 Merit Awards, and the student-focused NEW GENERATION Award.

Registration and design submission run from July 24 to noon JST on October 7, 2026. Results are scheduled for March 13, 2027; applicants should follow the official entry site for exact requirements.
