The Nue Black Aesthetic
Deadline: August 8, 2027
Guest-curated by writer, journalist, and A Vibe Called Tech founder Charlene Prempeh, the exhibition brings together 16 contemporary designers including Ini Archibong, Simone Brewster, Mac Collins, Tosin Oshinowo, Samuel Ross, and Bianca Saunders. It challenges the idea that Black design has one single appearance or definition, asking who shapes design culture and how design can carry complex histories and identities.
Across six sections, more than 100 works range from furniture and architecture to fashion, sculpture, ceramics, and installation. A new site-specific commission by Ini Archibong concludes the exhibition, connecting design, craft, sound, and spatial experience.
The exhibition runs from November 6, 2026 to August 8, 2027 at the Design Museum in London. Tickets are now on sale; prices and opening hours should be confirmed on the museum’s official website.
