The Oak Moon Pavilion International Design Competition
Deadline: 2027-3-1
The Oak Moon Pavilion is set on Yoga Farm Italy’s rural estate near Pescosolido in central Italy. Participants are asked to design an open-air timber yoga pavilion beneath the canopy of a historic oak tree, using a moon-shaped platform to create a welcoming place for yoga, meditation, gathering, and community life. Proposals should respect the existing landscape and emphasize simplicity, sustainability, craftsmanship, and buildability.
The competition is open worldwide and no professional qualification is required. Entrants may participate individually or in teams of up to four, and all communication and submitted material must be in English. Buildner encourages imaginative yet restrained proposals in which architecture becomes a natural extension of the site rather than an isolated object in the landscape.
The total prize fund is €8,000: €3,500 for first prize, €2,000 for second prize, €1,000 for third prize, €1,000 for the Student Award, and €500 for the Sustainability Award. Registration closes on January 28, 2027, the competition Q&A deadline is February 2, and entries must be submitted by 23:59 London time on March 1, 2027. The winners are scheduled to be announced on April 20, 2027.
