Archicasting
TETRO Arquitetura | Archicasting
Architizer A+Awards、World Design Awards、Architecture & Design Collection Awards等奖项,并入选Architectural Digest的AD100榜单。 Project Name: Seriema House Location: Belo Horizonte, Brazil Design Team: TETRO Arquitetura Total Floor Area: 350 m² Completion: 2025 Photography: Luisa Lage Feature: Project - TETRO Arquitetura has completed their latest masterpiece - Seriema House, situated in a bucolic refuge on the outskirts of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. To access the residence, visitors must cross a mountain range, a journey that marks a transition. Leaving behind urban noise, one enters a serene environment fully integrated with nature. The design team created a 350-square-meter dwelling positioned between two distinct landscapes: on one side, a wide, open view of mountains; on the other, a dense forest full of trees. In this balance between expansive vistas and shaded refuge, the house fits harmoniously. Seriemas, birds typical to the region that roam freely around the property, inspired the residence's name. The project's most distinctive feature is its poetic, winding wall covered in black stone, which divides the house into two worlds. On one side lies the welcoming space: bright, filled with sounds, music, and movement, with open mountain views. On the other, the retreat space: silent, introspective, immersed in forest shadows, dedicated to rest and reading. Materiality reinforces the connection with the landscape. The sinuous black stone wall creates a dramatic contrast with the white stone flooring. Conceived as more than a home, the house was designed as a space for pause—a place to read, rest, contemplate the landscape, and share moments with friends. Seriema House embodies time, river, mountain, and cave. It is, above all, poetry in architectural form. Design Team - Founded in 2001, TETRO Arquitetura is an architectural practice based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, working globally under the leadership of architects Carlos Maia, Débora Mendes, and Igor Macedo. Schemata Architects | Archicasting
Nestled in the heart of Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, the Funamachi Base emerges as a captivating blend of tradition and innovation. Designed by Jo Nagasaka of Schemata Architects, this mixed-use facility seamlessly integrates a café and Japanese confectionery shop into the urban fabric, paying homage to the area's rich history as a bustling river port. The project's standout feature is its ingenious blurring of boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. By extending the adjacent park's greenery into the site and employing consistent materials throughout, Nagasaka creates a fluid environment where visitors effortlessly transition from public to private realms. The architecture becomes an extension of the park itself, inviting passersby to engage with the confectionery-making process and immerse themselves in the sensory experience of freshly steamed buns and kneaded sweet bean paste. A striking trio of volumes topped by an expansive roof defines the structure, housing a revived traditional sweets shop alongside modern dining spaces. The designers' thoughtful approach is evident in details like sandblasted PVC pipes traversing indoor and outdoor areas, and multi-functional bulging foundations that serve as counters, benches, and even a well for confectionery production. This architectural gem not only revitalizes a historic district but also aims to catalyze broader urban regeneration, potentially attracting young locals and urban dwellers to Ogaki. The Funamachi Base stands as a testament to the power of architecture in fostering community connections and preserving cultural heritage while embracing contemporary needs. Schemata Architects, founded in 1998 by Jo Nagasaka, has established itself as a pioneering force in Japan's architectural landscape. Project Name: SAB Office Building Location: Prenzlauer Berg district, Berlin, Germany Design Team: Sergei Tchoban Architects Project Partner: Philipp Bauer Project Leaders: Philipp Bauer, Kenan Ozan Design Team Members: Valeria Kashirina, René Hoch, Puk Paludan, Manel Reig Florensa, Azzurra Pippia General Contractor: OTTO WULFF Bauunternehmung GmbH, Berlin Project Management: N.D.C Projektentwicklung GmbH, AO Berlin Lighting Design: jack be nimble Lichtplaner & Ingenieure, Berlin Total Floor Area: 6,150 m² Structure: Reinforced Concrete Skeleton Structure Floors: 5 Stories Above Ground, 2 Basement Levels Special Features: Historical Beer Cellar Integration, Green Roof Capacity: 400 Workstations Completion: 2024 Photographer: HG Esch Feature: Project - Architect Sergei Tchoban has unveiled a striking office building in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district, where a contemporary interpretation of industrial architecture meets historical brewing heritage. The SAB Office Building, completed in 2024, stands on the former site of the Koenigstadt Brewery, one of Berlin's largest historical breweries, and masterfully negotiates the transition between past and present through its distinctive form and materiality. The building's most compelling feature is its dynamic volumetric composition, where the upper floors execute a bold 15-degree rotation above a solid clinker brick base. This geometric manipulation creates an illusion of lightness while opening up new visual corridors to the surrounding historical brewery buildings. The facade treatment reinforces this sculptural gesture through sawtooth-like, scaly windows in dark aluminum frames, complemented by alternating two-story bay windows that emphasize the building's rotational aesthetic. Tchoban's design demonstrates particular sensitivity to the site's industrial heritage by incorporating remnants of the original brewery's vaulted beer cellar into an outdoor space beneath the cantilevered upper floors. This architectural palimpsest creates a dramatic dialogue between old and new, while the building's clinker brick base establishes a material connection to the surrounding Wilhelminian-era architecture. The six-story structure, accommodating 400 workstations, intelligently responds to its sloping site by embedding the ground floor half a story into the terrain. The architect has enhanced the workplace environment through thoughtful additions including a Japanese garden, a conference center with a central foyer, and a green roof that conceals technical equipment from neighboring viewpoints. Perhaps most notably, the building's glazed facades create an ever-changing display of reflections that visually weave together the historical streetscape with its contemporary intervention, demonstrating how modern architecture can both stand out and belong in a historical context. Design Team - Sergei Tchoban Architects, established in Berlin in 1996, has emerged as one of Europe's most distinguished architectural practices, renowned for its innovative approach to contextual design and sustainable urban development. Led by founding principal Sergei Tchoban, who trained at the prestigious Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, the firm has consistently demonstrated excellence in integrating contemporary architectural expressions with historical urban fabrics. The practice's portfolio spans across typologies, from cultural institutions to commercial developments, with a particular expertise in adaptive reuse and urban regeneration projects. Tchoban's distinctive design philosophy, influenced by his background as an accomplished architectural draftsman, emphasizes the importance of hand drawing in the conceptual process, resulting in buildings with extraordinary attention to facade articulation and spatial composition. The firm's work has garnered numerous accolades, including the European Prize for Architecture 2018 from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, and multiple International Architecture Awards. With a current leadership team including project partners like Philipp Bauer, the practice continues to push boundaries in architectural innovation while maintaining a deep respect for urban context. Their recent projects, such as the SAB Office Building in Berlin, exemplify their ability to create dialogue between contemporary architecture and historical surroundings through sophisticated volumetric manipulation and material expression.
Rosan Bosch Studio | Archicasting
Project Name: The Garzón School Location: Manantiales, Uruguay Design Team: Rosan Bosch Studio Total Floor Area: 900 m² Completion: 2025 Photography: Eleazar Cuadros Feature: Project - Nestled within a dense eucalyptus forest in Manantiales, Uruguay, The Garzón School designed by Rosan Bosch Studio represents a radical departure from traditional educational architecture. This 900-square-meter campus completed in 2025 showcases cutting-edge thinking in educational space design through its innovative "Learning Worlds" concept and comprehensive integration of biophilic design principles with natural environments. Under Rosan Bosch's leadership, the design team meticulously created a learning environment that dissolves indoor-outdoor boundaries, establishing a revolutionary educational paradigm where "the school is the park, and the park is the school." The campus is strategically divided into six distinct "Learning Worlds": Mountain Top, Cave, Campfire, Watering Hole, Hands-on, and Movement, each designed to support different learning modalities while fostering student autonomy and creativity. The project's distinctive feature lies in its village-like masterplan arrangement. Students begin their learning journey in the protected forest core, then gradually expand their exploration outward as they develop confidence and awareness. This progressive spatial strategy perfectly mirrors the educational philosophy, creating a physical manifestation of growth and discovery. The selection of architectural materials demonstrates profound respect for the environment. All buildings are constructed from locally sourced sustainable timber, with facades utilizing the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban charring technique, providing exceptional durability while creating striking visual harmony with the surrounding forest environment. Two brick plazas thoughtfully reference Uruguayan vernacular architectural vocabulary, while native vegetation and playful wooden elements further enrich the natural setting. Transparency and connectivity define the overall campus experience, with all spaces achieving continuous indoor-outdoor environmental interaction. The landscape design unfolds around the village core, creating areas that foster students' sense of belonging and identity while providing diverse spaces for gathering and play. Subtle color applications, natural light, and rich material textures collectively create an environmental atmosphere that promotes the wellbeing of students and educators. "We wanted to create a space that moved away from traditional classroom boundaries while honoring the natural forest environment and fostering innovative learning experiences," said Rosan Bosch Studio. Through thoughtful integration of architecture, natural environment, and pedagogy, The Garzón School embodies a transformative educational model that serves as a benchmark for Latin America, demonstrating how design can create spaces where learning flourishes naturally and students develop into confident, capable change-makers. Design Team - Rosan Bosch Studio is an interdisciplinary design practice founded in 2011, working at the intersection of art, design, and architecture. The firm believes that physical environments make a decisive difference in how we act in the world, therefore using design as an active tool to create change—whether in educational environments, workplaces, hospitals, or exhibition spaces. Under founder Rosan Bosch's leadership, the Copenhagen-based team of 11-50 professionals focuses on creating learning environments, workspaces, and cultural venues that respect the innate playfulness of human beings. The studio strategically employs design approaches that create space for new thoughts and change, developing a distinctive design language. Project:Rockbound House Team:Omar Gandhi Architects Size:380 m² Location:Hubbards, Canada Feature: Project - Perched on the rugged coastline of Nova Scotia, Rockbound House by Omar Gandhi Architects stands as a testament to resilient design and harmonious integration with nature. This 380-square-meter coastal retreat in Musquodoboit Harbour showcases the firm's mastery in crafting architecture that not only withstands but embraces its challenging environment. The house's striking cedar cladding, designed to age gracefully, mirrors the surrounding landscape's weathered beauty. Two interlocking volumes, strategically positioned to maximize breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, form the core of this sophisticated dwelling. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the coastal panorama, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. Rockbound House's true innovation lies beneath its elegant exterior. An ingenious system of micropiles, necessitated by an unexpected sedimentary seam discovered during construction, ensures the structure's stability against the harsh coastal elements. This engineering feat, coupled with a steel and timber frame designed to withstand hurricane-force winds, exemplifies the project's commitment to durability and adaptability. Inside, a warm palette of tiles and white oak creates a welcoming atmosphere, contrasting beautifully with the cool greys and blues of the surrounding seascape. The seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, including a semi-covered terrace and floating upper-floor balcony, further emphasizes the home's intimate connection with its wild, windswept setting. Design Team - Founded in 2010, Omar Gandhi Architects (OGA) has rapidly established itself as a vanguard in contemporary Canadian architecture. With design studios in Toronto and Halifax, the firm has cultivated a portfolio that spans from innovative residential projects to large-scale public works, each embodying a unique dialogue between site-specificity and architectural ingenuity. OGA's design philosophy is rooted in a deep engagement with context, where each project becomes an evolution or abstraction of familiar architectural typologies. The firm's approach involves a meticulous unraveling of client briefs, coupled with an astute analysis of site conditions, resulting in boldly reimagined forms that challenge conventional spatial experiences. Under the leadership of Principal Omar Gandhi, alongside Associates Jeff Shaw, Stephanie Hosein, and Jordan Rice, the practice has garnered international acclaim. Notable projects like the Schlotfeldt Residence in British Columbia and the Rabbit Snare Gorge cabin in Nova Scotia exemplify OGA's mastery in harmonizing modern interventions with rugged landscapes. The firm's work is characterized by its tectonic expressiveness, materiality, and attention to detail. OGA's designs often feature a juxtaposition of robust forms with delicate architectural refinements, creating spaces that are at once striking and intimately connected to their environment. Recognized with prestigious accolades including the Canada Council for the Arts Professional Prix de Rome and the Canadian Governor General's Medal in Architecture, OGA continues to push the boundaries of architectural discourse, cementing its position as a formidable force in contemporary design.

Project Name: hand-in-hand house Location: Karuizawa Town, Japan Design Team: nendo Project Area: Site Area 5,812.39 m², Building Area 158.53 m², Total Floor Area 142.48 m² Building Type: Weekend Villa Structure: Steel Construction Design Period: January 2022 to December 2023 Construction Period: January 2024 to May 2025 Completion Date: June 2024 Photography: Masahiro Ohgami Feature: Project - In a groundbreaking exploration of architectural intimacy, nendo has transformed a sloping 5,800-square-meter site in Karuizawa into a revolutionary weekend retreat that challenges conventional residential design. The hand-in-hand house emerges as a radical reinterpretation of family living, where architecture becomes a metaphorical representation of familial connections. Designed for a family of four, the project ingeniously dismantles the traditional single-volume residence into six distinct 20-square-meter pavilions, each carefully oriented to capture the breathtaking landscape and views of Mount Asama. These micro-structures are not merely functional spaces but carefully choreographed volumes that speak to individual privacy while maintaining a profound sense of collective unity. The most striking design intervention lies in the deliberate positioning of these pavilions. Slightly misaligned and varying in roof heights, they create a dynamic spatial narrative that respects each family member's need for personal space while simultaneously fostering a sense of togetherness. Functional zones—from kitchen to dining and bedrooms—are strategically distributed across these pavilions, connected through a soft, fluid architectural language that mimics the gentle act of holding hands. A expansive terrace that dramatically protrudes from the sloping terrain serves as the project's foundational gesture, blurring boundaries between interior and exterior. This architectural move not only maximizes the site's natural topography but also creates a seamless dialogue with the lush surrounding forest. Nendo's approach transcends mere architectural design; it is a profound exploration of familial dynamics, where space becomes a medium for expressing emotional connections and individual identities. Design Team - Founded in 2002 by visionary architect Oki Sato, nendo has emerged as a globally recognized design powerhouse that transcends traditional architectural boundaries. Headquartered in Tokyo with an additional Milan office, the firm has consistently redefined contemporary design through its distinctive minimalist approach and innovative spatial conceptualization. Sato, born in Toronto and educated at Waseda University, has positioned nendo as an internationally acclaimed design practice, repeatedly recognized for groundbreaking architectural and design solutions. The firm's portfolio demonstrates an exceptional ability to blend functionality with poetic spatial narratives, transforming mundane environments into extraordinary experiences. With a multidisciplinary team of over 30 designers, nendo's approach goes beyond conventional architectural practice. Their design philosophy centers on creating spaces that respond sensitively to human experiences, utilizing a strategic minimalism that prioritizes emotional and functional connectivity. Each project—whether residential, commercial, or installation—reflects a meticulous attention to detail and an understanding of spatial dynamics that sets them apart in the global design landscape. Acclaimed globally through numerous prestigious awards including Designer of the Year at Maison & Objet and top rankings in dezeen's Designers Hot List, nendo continues to push the boundaries of architectural and design thinking, consistently challenging and reimagining our built environment.

Project Name: Hotel Romeo Roma Design Team: Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) Location: Rome, Italy Building Type: Hotel Renovation Number of Rooms: 74 Completion: 2024 Photographer:Chris Dalton,Jacopo Spilimbergo Feature: Project - Zaha Hadid Architects has transformed a 16th-century palazzo in Rome into a luxury hotel, creating a striking dialogue between historical architecture and contemporary design through a reinterpretation of traditional Roman vaults. The Hotel Romeo Roma, located on Via di Ripetta near Piazza del Popolo, showcases the firm's signature fluid aesthetics while preserving the building's historical elements spanning five centuries. Led by project director Paola Cattarin, the renovation project takes inspiration from Rome's architectural palimpsest - the layering of different historical periods - with a particular focus on the city's tradition of vaulted ceilings. The architects used this architectural element as a conceptual foundation, developing a contemporary interpretation that extends from the ceiling designs to the furniture, creating a cohesive design language throughout the space. The 74-room hotel features individually designed spaces that reject the typical modular approach of hotel architecture. Instead, each room presents its own unique spatial configuration, responding to the palazzo's irregular geometry. The design team developed a sophisticated "second skin" solution to integrate modern amenities within the historical structure, creating a thin cavity between the existing walls and new interior surfaces to house technical services while preserving the original architecture. During the renovation, which required 230 different building permissions and involved 49 companies, workers discovered a previously unknown Roman workshop featuring opus reticulatum - a 2,000-year-old diamond-shaped stone facing. This archaeological finding has been preserved and incorporated into the hotel design through a 90-square-meter gallery beneath the garden, visible through the glass floor of the hotel's swimming pool. The project demonstrates a masterful blend of historical preservation and contemporary design, where materials such as Carrara Statuarietto marble, Makassar ebony, and brass create rich, layered interiors that echo the building's accumulated history while establishing a new chapter in its architectural evolution. Design Team - Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), established in 1979 by the late Pritzker Prize laureate Zaha Hadid, has evolved into one of the world's most influential architectural practices, now operating as an Employee Benefit Trust under the leadership of Principal Patrik Schumacher. With headquarters in Clerkenwell, London, the 500-strong firm continues to push the boundaries of parametric design and computational architecture. Known for their distinctive architectural language characterized by fluid geometries and innovative spatial concepts, ZHA has consistently delivered groundbreaking projects across civic, cultural, and commercial sectors. Their portfolio includes iconic works such as the MAXXI Museum in Rome (Stirling Prize 2010), the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, and the Beijing Daxing International Airport terminal. Under Schumacher's direction since 2016, the practice has expanded its technological capabilities, notably establishing ZHAI (Zaha Hadid Analytics + Insights), a dedicated unit exploring AI-driven design methodologies. The firm's contemporary work continues to exemplify their commitment to research-driven architecture, sustainable innovation, and complex geometry optimization, while maintaining the practice's signature approach to urban integration and contextual response. Recent projects like the BEEAH Headquarters in UAE showcase their evolving expertise in combining parametric design with environmental consciousness.
ARKITITO | Archicasting

LABarq | Archicasting
