Project Name: FD Residence Location: São Paulo, Brazil Design Team: Padovani Arquitetos Area: 700 m² Completion Year: 2024 Photography: Evelyn Müller Feature: Project - Nestled in the undulating landscape of São Paulo’s countryside, the FD Residence by Padovani Arquitetos emerges as a sanctuary of modern tranquility, designed to host gatherings while embracing its natural surroundings. Completed in 2024, this 700-square-meter vacation home redefines spatial fluidity through an innovative steel structure and an L-shaped layout, carving out sweeping vistas of the adjacent lake and verdant terrain. Situated discreetly below street level, the residence reveals itself in staggered volumes—a half-level base and a floating upper block—that blend bold geometry with organic subtlety. The facade, a striking interplay of rhythmic wood slats, textured concrete, and matte-black accents, dissolves the boundary between architecture and landscape. This meticulous material palette mirrors the earthy tones of the setting, while expansive, slender eaves cascade around the upper floor, serving as both a sculptural crown and a functional shield against São Paulo’s climate. Below, the steel framework enables daring cantilevers and vast spans, fostering an unbroken dialogue between indoors and out. Inside, a double-height social area anchored by light-toned surfaces amplifies the sense of openness, contrasting elegantly with the exterior’s darker hues. Floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves walls, guiding the eye from the minimalist living spaces to a sun-drenched pool deck and the distant horizon. A lowered ceiling in the outdoor lounge creates intimacy, balancing the home’s grand scale. Meanwhile, the strategic positioning of courtyards and staircases choreographs movement, ensuring each transition offers a framed view or a moment of repose. Landscaping by Daniel Nunes threads native flora through the architecture, enhancing the residence’s symbiotic relationship with its environment. From the reflective pool to the timber-clad eaves, every element is a testament to Padovani Arquitetos’ mastery of light, materiality, and immersive spatial storytelling—a retreat where modernity and nature breathe as one. Design Team - Founded in 2008 by architect Lucas Padovani, São Paulo-based Padovani Arquitetos has carved a distinct niche in contemporary Brazilian architecture through designs that harmonize simplicity, technical innovation, and a profound dialogue with nature. The studio’s multidisciplinary team, led by Creative Director Lucas Padovani and Administrative Director Bruno Padovani, integrates architecture, interior design, and strategic planning to craft spaces that transcend functionality, embodying what the firm describes as “conceptual poetics” tailored to client needs and environmental context. Rooted in the ethos of tropicality , Padovani’s work balances elegance with bioclimatic strategies, utilizing materials and forms that respond to Brazil’s lush landscapes. Projects like the award-winning Valência House and HF House exemplify their mastery of spatial fluidity, where steel frameworks, expansive glass apertures, and organic materiality dissolve boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The firm’s process—marked by rigorous technical investigation and collaborative iteration—ensures each detail aligns with both aesthetic vision and experiential quality, a philosophy reinforced by Architecture Manager Raquel Azevedo and Creative Coordinator Fabio Wetten. In 2024, Padovani’s global acclaim surged with accolades including the Architizer A+ Award for Best Residential Firm and multiple wins at the International Property Awards, LOOP Design Awards, and DNA Paris Design Awards. These honors underscore their ability to merge residential intimacy with bold structural innovation, as seen in projects celebrated for their contextual sensitivity and material sophistication. With offices in Campinas and São Paulo, Padovani Arquitetos continues to redefine Brazilian modernism, proving that architecture can be both a technical discipline and a poetic act—one that invites inhabitants to engage deeply with their environment.

Designed by architect Kazuhiro Ise of TETRAWORKS, the secluded getaway on Hiroshima's Momoshima Island provides a tranquil escape immersed in nature. The residence sits just 30 meters from a sandy beach lapped by the gentle Seto Inland Sea waves. To capture panoramic views, Ise devised an ingenious split-level layout, raising the main living quarters to create an expansive viewing pavilion with floor-toceiling glazing framing vistas across the strait. This projecting glazed box defines the home's sculptural profile, an eye-catching form that reinterprets the traditional island vernacular. Inside, the airy interiors seamlessly blend with a walled courtyard, extending the living spaces outwards. Maximizing the idyllic island setting, Ise's restrained yet expressive design offers a rejuvenating immersion in Setouchi's unspoiled coastal landscape. Design Team - Founded in 2019, TETRAWORKS is a Hiroshima-based architectural design firm led by principal architect Kazuhiro Ise. The four-person team, including Ise, Tomoaki Tsuda (Director/First-Class Architect/Construction Supervisor), Masanobu Yamaguchi (Second-Class Architect), and Chiharu Ise, takes inspiration from the geometric simplicity and structural integrity of the tetrahedron - one of the fundamental Platonic solids. As its name suggests, TETRAWORKS' design philosophy centers around creating simple yet robust residential and commercial buildings that stand the test of time. The firm's minimalist aesthetic resonates through clean lines, geometric forms, and thoughtful material choices that imbue each project with a timeless beauty. TETRAWORKS' portfolio showcases their versatility in new construction, renovations, extensions, and retail design across the Hiroshima region. Wrapped in a lattice-like timber veil, the house bridges public and private realms through strategic orientation and placement of openings. While permeable northern façade invites verdant views and breezes, insulated southern flank averts summertime heat gain. At the heart lies a soaring double-height interior courtyard sealed by translucent polycarbonate roofs that flood the space with dappled sunlight. Reminiscent of a Victorian conservatory, this flexible venue accommodates lounging, reading nooks and children’s play areas amidst enveloping greenery. Strategically placed solar shading and operable skylights allow occupants to modulate light and ventilation. Enveloping this atrium, a ring of insulated rooms provides respite during severe winters and thunderstorms while still enabling cross-ventilation. By concentrating disparate functions within interconnected microclimates, the project reconciles seasonal extremes with user comfort. Beyond environmental attunement, these interlocking realms enrich everyday rituals with plays of light and shadow. Though compact, the dwelling's ingenious "matryoshka" configuration awakens the senses with the charm of the outdoors. Project Name: HORONG Bakery Location: Godeok New Town, Seoul, South Korea Design Team: Design Studio Maoom Total Floor Area: 326 m² Completion: 2023 Photography: Sungkee jin (soulgraph photography) Feature: Project - Design Studio Maoom has completed their latest project - HORONG Bakery in Godeok New Town, reinterpreting the concept of urban sanctuary through contemporary design approaches. This 326-square-meter structure serves both as a retail bakery and a thoughtfully crafted urban retreat. The project's most distinctive feature is its innovative treatment of structural columns. The design team transformed these essential elements into spatial protagonists through recurring circular details, creating an environment that is both monumental and gentle. These architectural elements interact with natural light to create rhythmic shadow patterns, adding dimensionality and vibrancy to the space. The spatial layout is carefully orchestrated, encompassing bakery display areas, resting zones, and window-side seating. The design creates a serene and warm atmosphere through unified beige tones and extensive glazing. Wooden furnishings are arranged in island-like configurations to provide independent relaxation spaces, while window-side seating maximizes natural light exposure to enhance spatial comfort. The project's uniqueness lies in its reconsideration of urban respite spaces. Drawing inspiration from the gentle glow of lanterns, the design team transformed the space into a warm sanctuary within urban life. Through careful orchestration of materials, light, and space, they created a tranquil haven where visitors can temporarily escape the city's bustle. Design Team - Founded in 2016, Design Studio Maoom is an innovative architectural practice guided by the philosophy of "Flexibility to change."

Project Name: NewAns Shinjuku Studio Location: Shinjuku District, Tokyo, Japan Design Team: Shin Aoki & Partners Construction: MYARDS Area: 86 m² Completion: April 2024 Photographer: Shota Hiyoshi Feature: Project - Japanese architect Shin Aoki has designed a hybrid fitness studio in Tokyo's Shinjuku district that deliberately blurs the boundaries between digital and physical training experiences while embracing social media culture. Located on the fourth floor of a commercial building, NewAns Shinjuku represents a fresh take on fitness spaces that moves away from traditional muscle-building environments toward a more holistic wellness approach. The 86-square-meter studio combines personal training and Pilates facilities with carefully considered social media integration and online training capabilities. "In an increasingly saturated fitness market, we wanted to create a space that prioritizes sustainable health over temporary physical transformation," Aoki explains. "The design needed to work equally well for both in-person sessions and online streaming." The studio's most striking feature is its training area, defined by an interplay of undulating curtains and staggered wooden wall panels. This intentionally irregular spatial configuration helps users lose sense of the room's actual dimensions, allowing them to focus entirely on their workout sessions. The architect employed a sophisticated material palette of soft woods and textiles to create a calming atmosphere that contrasts sharply with conventional gym aesthetics. Particularly innovative is the studio's approach to social media integration. A specially designed curved wall at the entrance serves as a branded photography backdrop for visitors' social posts, while the cardio area strategically faces park views through large windows – positioning exercising clients as living advertisements visible to passersby. The space is meticulously planned to function as a seamless filming location for online content, with carefully positioned logo placements and considered lighting that works equally well for both in-person training and video streaming. Full-height fixtures and handle-less doors maintain clean sightlines throughout, eliminating visual distractions in both real and digital environments. This thoughtful merger of physical and digital design elements creates what Aoki calls a "node between online and offline experiences" – a space that feels familiar to clients who discover it through social media, while providing an enhanced real-world experience that's inherently shareable. Design Team - Founded in 2021, Shin Aoki & Partners (SAAP) is an emerging Tokyo-based architectural practice that sits at the intersection of spatial innovation and human-centric design. Led by Principal Architect Shin Aoki, who brings valuable experience from his tenure at Kengo Kuma & Associates (2019-2024), the studio has rapidly established itself as a thoughtful voice in Japan's contemporary architectural scene. The practice's methodology is deeply rooted in phenomenological approaches to architecture, emphasizing the experiential quality of spaces while addressing contemporary social and environmental challenges. Following his education at The University of Tokyo and international experience at firms including Vo Trong Nghia Architects and Moreau Kusunoki Architects, Aoki has developed a distinctive design philosophy that merges Japanese spatial traditions with contemporary programmatic needs. The interdisciplinary team, including graphic designer Yamato Iizuka and master carpenter Toshiki Nishimura, approaches each project through rigorous research and prototyping. Their work is characterized by a careful consideration of materiality, innovative spatial sequences, and an acute awareness of environmental performance. SAAP's portfolio demonstrates their commitment to creating architecture that transcends mere functional requirements, instead focusing on crafting spaces that enhance user experience through careful attention to tactile qualities, natural light, and spatial flow.

Project Name: SOLASUNA Hotel Location: Yukuhashi City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan Design Team: axonometric Total Floor Area: 853.40 m² Completion: November 2023 Photography: YASHIRO PHOTO OFFICE, REPOSHA Yuta Nishino Feature: Project - Within a beachfront park in Nagai-hama, Yukuhashi City, Fukuoka Prefecture, architectural firm axonometric has created SOLASUNA, an innovative hotel project. This 853.40-square-meter structure ingeniously resolves the boundary between public and private space, serving as a catalyst for revitalizing this once-thriving but later declined coastal area. The design team, guided by the concept of "gentle integration between park and hotel," creatively expanded the existing wooden walkway into a three-dimensional form, creating a massive stepped structure that envelops the entire building. The most striking feature of this design is its multifunctionality: the steps not only serve as a natural circulation path connecting guest rooms to the sea, but also provide spacious terraces accessible to both hotel guests and park visitors, while simultaneously functioning as a louver system shielding from strong eastern sunlight and moderating views from the park. Viewed from a distance, the entire structure resembles a grand amphitheater facing the ocean. The interior spaces demonstrate a profound understanding of the natural environment, creating fluid transitions between the architecture and the surrounding beachfront park. This two-story steel structure occupies 459.50 square meters within a 5,668.70-square-meter site, successfully balancing the public nature of the park with the privacy of the hotel through its innovative stepped design. What distinguishes SOLASUNA is its creation of a "buffer space belonging to neither park, building, nor nature, yet integrating them all." This transitional zone maintains deliberately fluid and ambiguous identity, making the project not merely occupy its site but transform it, establishing new relationships between public recreation, private accommodation, and natural landscape in a seamless, compelling whole. Design Team - Founded in 2021, axonometric is an innovative architectural design firm based in Fukuoka, led by Principal Architect Kei Sasaki, undertaking diverse projects both within Japan and internationally. Sasaki previously worked at the renowned SOU FUJIMOTO ARCHITECTS, possessing rich professional experience as a first-class architect and guest lecturer at multiple universities. The firm focuses on comprehensive spatial design, with services encompassing architectural design, interior design, furniture design, landscape design, and urban planning. The team consists of a group of talented professionals including Managing Director Kaori Kurakazu, several architects and project managers, who collectively infuse each project with innovative thinking and professional spirit. axonometric's work has received multiple international awards for its unique understanding of space and innovative approaches, including the 2024 DFA Design for Asia Gold Award, Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards (APIDA) Gold Award and Jury's Special Prize, and the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2024 Special Prize. Their design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious coexistence of architecture and environment, balancing practical functionality with aesthetic experience. The firm's growth and expansion reflect its firm commitment to architectural innovation and increasing influence in the industry, bringing new perspectives and possibilities to Japan's contemporary architectural design field.

A31 Architecture | Archicasting

Project Name: Aimasia Residence Location: Mykonos, Greece Design Team: A31 Architecture Project Area: 850㎡ Completion Year: 2024 Photography: Mike Kelley Lead Architect: Praxitelis Kondylis Lighting Design: ASlight | lighting design Landscape Design: ARCHETOPO / LANDSCAPE URBANISM Structural Engineer: Giannis Psarras MEP Engineer: George Kavoulakos, TEKEM S.A. Consulting Engineers Project Management: Panagiotis Karras | A31 CONSTRUCTION Feature: Project - Greek architecture studio A31 Architecture has completed a sculptural residence on Mykonos that pays homage to the island's ancient agricultural heritage through its defining 62-meter granite wall. Named Aimasia Residence after the Greek word for dry-stone walls traditionally used by farmers, this 850-square-metre dwelling is thoughtfully embedded into a 14,000-square-metre plot near the iconic Elia beach. The project's standout feature is its spine-like wall crafted from local Mykonian granite, which elegantly traces the natural contours of the landscape while serving as the architectural anchor for the entire composition. Led by architect Praxitelis Kondylis, the design demonstrates a masterful balance between contemporary luxury and environmental sensitivity. The residence opens dramatically to the south, capturing sweeping views of the Aegean Sea, while its eastern orientation frames an impressive granite hill dotted with UNESCO-listed dry-stone walls – creating a poetic dialogue between past and present. The project's commitment to sustainability is evident in its extensive green roofing system, which allows the structure to seamlessly merge with its surroundings. This approach not only preserves the natural landscape but also contributes to the building's thermal efficiency. The architects employed cast-in-situ concrete with low-carbon cement, creating bright surfaces that establish a striking contrast against the rugged terrain. Interior spaces flow between intimate and expansive areas, with carefully positioned openings that optimize cross-ventilation and natural lighting. The materiality of local granite, white-plastered walls, and native plantings creates a sophisticated palette that respects the Cycladic architectural vernacular while pushing it into contemporary territory. Aimasia Residence represents a thoughtful exploration of how modern architecture can honor historical building techniques while addressing contemporary needs for sustainability and luxury living in the Mediterranean context. Design Team - A31 Architecture, established in 2003 in Athens, has emerged as a prominent multidisciplinary practice that seamlessly integrates architecture, interior design, and construction management. Founded by architect Praxitelis Kondylis and later joined by civil engineer Panagiotis Karras in 2007, the firm has garnered international recognition through their contextually sensitive and functionally sophisticated approach to design. The practice's portfolio spans from intimate residential projects to expansive cultural complexes, with a particular emphasis on human-centric spatial solutions and sustainable building practices. Their work is characterized by considered layouts, compelling narratives, and honest construction methodologies, as evidenced by their award-winning projects including the Latypi Residence and Aimasia Residence in Mykonos. Under the leadership of Kondylis and Karras, A31 has developed a comprehensive service model that encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design through to construction delivery. Their integrated approach has earned them numerous accolades, including recognition from the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture and Architizer A+ Awards, while their work has been extensively featured in international publications across Europe and America. The firm's commitment to innovation, collaborative design thinking, and sustainable architecture has positioned them as a leading voice in contemporary Mediterranean architecture.

June Architects | Archicasting

Feature: Project - Set amidst the bustling urban environment of Seongnam-si, South Korea, the Pangyo Two Courtyards House by June Architects adeptly balances a connection to nature with privacy. The 297 sqm residence orchestrates a sculptural composition of graceful concrete forms which carve out two sunken courtyards. One courtyard sits opposite the entrance, unfolding an expansive double-height void which floods the home with natural light. The other nestles intimately alongside the living spaces. At the heart of the home is the central courtyard’s eight-and-a-half-metre tall wall constructed from a closed form concrete that offers a bold and expansive backdrop. This grand and lofty courtyard stitches together the split-level home, serving as a unifying locale where inhabitants can gather. The adjoining courtyard provides a more sheltered, private garden, sunk into the ground plane. Along its perimeter, textured concrete partitions rise up, elegantly curating views and filtering daylight into the home’s communal living areas via irregular voids. The thoughtful layout provides convenience by grouping the kitchen and laundry while still allowing for privacy in the personal quarters. By tempering external visibility via considered materiality and orientations, the Pangyo House delivers the dynamism of connection with nature alongside a refined intimacy. Design Team - Established in 2012, June Architects is led by Principal Architect 김현석, an award-winning architect recognized for his creative and responsive designs. Kim brings over a decade of international experience, having studied and practiced in France as well as South Korea. His distinguishable aesthetic balances sculptural forms with an overarching order to create spaces that are powerful yet elegant. As a firm seeking meaning and identity within architecture, June Architects pursues designs attuned to locale and context. They infuse spaces with light and connection to nature while providing convenience and comfort for inhabitants. Past projects like the Pyeong Chang Dong Brick House showcase their ability to modernize traditional forms through materiality and layout. Guided by the energy of June, the namesake month symbolizing life and growth, the firm continues to create meaningful designs through their skilled architects. June Architects upholds clever solutions that address user needs and environmental factors to provide enjoyable, sustainable buildings.

Feature:Project - In Brisbane's South Bank, Koichi Takada Architects has unveiled Upper House, a 33-story residential tower that intertwines nature and architecture in an unprecedented way. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Moreton Bay fig tree's serpentine aerial root system, the building's facade flows upwards in three colossal timber-clad "roots" crafted from locally-sourced hardwood. This organic, sculptural form punctuates the skyline, celebrating Australia's ancient rainforests. But Upper House isn't just a feat of biomimetic design - it reimagines the high-rise typology entirely. The tower's crown jewel is the Upper Club, Australia's first double-height rooftop amenity spanning two floors. Here, a 1,000 sq m tropical oasis offers an infinity pool, fitness facilities, outdoor lounges and lush landscaping, fostering community connections often lacking in vertical developments. Sustainability principles guided every decision, from rainwater harvesting and solar power to electric car-sharing and over 3,500 regionally-adapted plants insulating the terraces. Indigenous artist Judy Watson's five-story facade artwork also roots the design in cultural narratives. The result transcends a typical residential tower, expressing Takada's vision for enhanced wellbeing through nature-inspired, socially-catalytic architecture. Design Team - Established in 2008, Koichi Takada Architects has emerged as a vanguard in biomimetic and organic architectural design. Led by principal Koichi Takada, the Sydney and Brisbane-based firm develops architecture that harmoniously coexists with the natural world, drawing inspiration from the inherent beauty and intelligence of ecological systems. At the helm, Takada imbues his Japanese sensibilities into distinctly Australian designs that elicit emotional resonance through organic forms and a profound consideration for the human experience. The practice's award-winning portfolio spans an array of typologies across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Tokyo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Doha, and Mexico City. Koichi Takada Architects' multidisciplinary team, comprising directors Georgia Wilson, Richard Storey, Fabiola Monasterio, and Masa Sado, excels in translating Takada's "naturalized" design philosophy into built environments that seamlessly interweave nature and urban living. Their innovative approach positions the firm as a frontrunner in sustainable, human-centric architecture that empowers connection with the planet.

Mimosa architects | Archicasting

Lichtstad Architecten | Archicasting

Bureau Tempo + Thom Fougere Studio | Archicasting

Project Name: Pine Island Cottage Location: Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada Design Team: Bureau Tempo + Thom Fougere Studio Total Floor Area: 3,500 ft² (325 m²) Completion: 2024 Photography: Alex Lesage, Thom Fougere Feature: Project - Located on a secluded island in Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada, Pine Island Cottage features interiors by Bureau Tempo and Thom Fougere Studio that complement the architectural design by Gren Weis Architect. This holiday residence creates a spatial experience that responds to the island's rocky terrain while providing a habitat that connects deeply with the natural environment. The cottage is designed in a T-shaped layout that cleverly follows the natural topography of the island, cascading from the bedroom wings at higher elevation down to the communal spaces that face the water. The design team walked along the island's rocky beaches with the clients, seeking ways to translate this outdoor tactile experience into the interior design. Visitors enter through a thoughtfully designed oak door with a pebble-shaped handle, leading into a low, gently lit, oak-lined entryway. The space gradually opens as the floors terrace down, the ceiling height grows, and the material palette lightens, revealing the main living space. At the heart of the home, the kitchen—complete with a pantry, bar and breakfast nook—is anchored by a fieldstone island evoking the feel of casual gatherings that often take place on the island's rocky shores. Extending from the kitchen is the dining area positioned under a skylight, followed by a lounge space with a built-in sofa bounded by a fieldstone hearth. The double-sided hearth is central to the cottage's circulation, warming both the interior and the screened outdoor porch. Through careful material selection and spatial organization, the cottage honors the natural environment, evokes a sense of place, and provides residents with a living experience deeply integrated with the island landscape. As a dwelling that emphasizes sustainability and tactile experience, it showcases what the designers describe as an atmosphere that is "at once rugged and serene." This holiday home serves as an important platform for family engagement with the natural environment, with every design detail thoughtfully considered, including custom cast wall sconces and wrought iron handrails crafted by a local blacksmith, demonstrating how to balance natural materials with modern comfort, forming its own microcosm that reflects the designers' acute understanding of material, light, and space. Design Team - Thom Fougere Studio is a multidisciplinary design practice focused on furniture design, product development, creative direction, and architectural space, founded by Thom Fougere in 2021 in Montréal, Canada. From the very beginning, the practice was founded on a design philosophy of material dialogue, spatial sequencing, and meticulous attention to detail. Prior to establishing his own studio, Thom Fougere served as creative director at Canadian design house EQ3 for nine years, where he crafted numerous product collections for the company and led the brand through a transformative global re-positioning. This included designing EQ3's New York flagship building, which was completed in 2019. These experiences cultivated his ability to coordinate a unified design language across different scales, influencing the studio's current practice. Thom Fougere Studio believes good design is achieved through profound understanding of context and honest expression of materials. The studio employs what Fougere calls "minimum touch with maximum impact"—an approach exemplified in projects like Pine Island Cottage, where locally-sourced materials and thoughtful spatial sequencing create environments that are simultaneously rugged and serene. The firm's work extends beyond traditional architecture into furniture collections for brands including Mjölk and Division Twelve (Keilhauer), as well as installations like the NIX pavilion created with artist Wanda Koop. Thom Fougere Studio represents a new generation of Canadian design talent, with work exhibited internationally at design fairs in Milan, Stockholm, New York, Montréal, and Toronto. The studio has received numerous accolades including the 2024 Toronto Design Offsite Best in Festival: Juror's Choice Award and the 2023 Good Design Award for the Spinni Stools collection. Through meticulous attention to contextual factors, material authenticity, and human experience, Thom Fougere Studio continues to produce spaces that transcend functional requirements—creating works that enhance human experience while respecting the natural environment.

Feature: Project - Nestled amidst the lush mountains and serene Songshan Lake in Dongguan, China, the Banyan Tree Resort pays homage to the architectural heritage of the Lingnan region through its climate-responsive design approach. Conceived by gad, the sprawling resort seamlessly blends traditional elements with modern sensibilities, creating a tranquil oasis that harmonizes with its surroundings. The resort's layout draws inspiration from the "one pond, two banks" concept of traditional Lingnan villages, with the hotel's public areas and guestrooms naturally segregated along an artificial inner lake. This ingenious planning not only optimizes functionality but also fosters a profound connection with the surrounding water scenery. Echoing the region's architectural DNA, the design incorporates quintessential Lingnan features such as open halls, covered walkways, and courtyards. However, these elements are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, resulting in a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Sustainability takes center stage with the resort's low-carbon and energy-saving strategies. Recycled materials, including repurposed blue bricks and locally-sourced red sandstone, are skillfully integrated, celebrating the region's legacy while reducing environmental impact. The Banyan Tree Resort in Dongguan exemplifies a harmonious fusion of climateresponsive design principles, cultural preservation, and sustainable practices, offering a unique retreat that pays reverence to the rich architectural traditions of the Lingnan region.
